Roxanne Brown
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero
'til the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight!
Roxanne pulled up to the animal clinic bubbling with excitement as she thought about what she was about to do. She was about to pick up the newest member of her ever increasing family. She had been earlier that month to the clinic and fallen in love with the dog at the very furthest kennel. The black labrador had looked so lonely in the kennel on his own and he seemed to look right into her and she had just known that this dog was for her. This was her dog and she was going to take him home. But she couldn't just take him, all the owner and home assessments before she could take her new dog home. She had waited for what had seemed like years for the call to say her dog was ready to be taken home.
She smiled as she cut the engine and opened the door. She quickly jumped out and shut the door to the car.She walked up and through the doors before she stopped for a second and took in the smell of the clinic. It smelt clean but at the same time the smell of cat and dog food lingered in the air along with the smell of wet dog. She moved over to the desk and smiled at the girl behind it. "I am here to collect a dog, my name is Roxanne Brown" she said. She waited impatiently as the girl checked the computer system. She began to fiddle with her bag hoping that there wasn't going to be any complications.
"I'm afraid you will have to wait for about fifteen minutes or so, your dog is having his final check-up" the girl said smiling at her, "If you just take a seat I'll call you when he is ready to go." Roxanne's smile faded as she heard she would have to wait. She nodded and thanked the girl before going over to the hard plastic chairs and sitting down. She sighed as she though about all the supplies she had bought for her new addition ans that made her smile slightly. She now resigned herself to waiting and began to wonder if anyone else was going to come in.
